General Membership Meeting
BUSINESS RESILIENCE IS NO LONGER AN OPTION. IT IS A NECESSITY.
As Davao prepares for the potential impacts of a Super El Niño, the business sector must recognize that climate preparedness is not merely a risk management measure—it is essential to protecting economic productivity, sustaining operations, and ensuring business continuity.
As a backbone of the economy, businesses cannot afford to be reactive. We must anticipate risks, strengthen our capacity to adapt, and build resilience. Equally important is the need for government agencies, the private sector, and key institutions to work hand in hand. A resilient economy requires a coordinated and collective response.
In this light, the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) invites its members and the wider business community to the 11th General Membership Meeting (GMM) for 2026, featuring the timely discussion:
“RISING TO THE CHALLENGE: BUSINESS RESILIENCE IN THE AGE OF EXTREME EL NIÑO”
PREPARE. ADAPT. ENDURE.
Building a Climate-Resilient and Business-Ready Davao.
Our resource speaker, Engr. Bema C. Tajones, Weather Specialist I of the Mindanao PAGASA Regional Services Division, will discuss emerging climate trends and their potential impact on businesses and communities.
This will be followed by a Panel Discussion featuring Davao Light & Power Co., Davao City Water District, and the City Agriculturist Office of Davao, bringing critical perspectives on energy security, water availability, and agricultural resilience, and the importance of coordinated action in preparing Davao for the challenges ahead.

THE TIME TO PREPARE IS NOW.
Let us move beyond awareness and translate preparedness into concrete action, stronger partnerships, and practical business continuity strategies.
The resilience of our businesses is the resilience of our economy. Government and industry must stand together to ensure that Davao remains prepared, productive, and business-ready—whatever climate challenges lie ahead.
Davao must be prepared. Davao's businesses must be resilient. And we must build that resilience together.
